Eid al-Fitr: FG Declares July 5th & 6th as Public Holiday


The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, July 5, and Wednesday, July 6 2016 as public holidays to celebrate the Muslim festival, Eid-el-Fitri.
The Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau, announced the holiday in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday.

Spain Deports 11 Nigerians Less than 48hrs after America Deported 41


The Spanish Government on Friday deported 11 Nigerians alleged to have committed various offences in that country.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that their deportation is coming less than 48 hours after 41 Nigerians were deported from the United States of America for similar reasons.

Fake Doctor bags Life Imprisonment for Kidnapping 8-year-old boy


Kogi High Court sitting in Lokoja has sentenced a fake Medical Doctor, Joseph Adeika to life imprisonment for kidnapping his former employer’s 8-year-old son, Favour Sunday in Ajaokuta.

Justice Yunusa Musa of Kogi High Court V handed down the sentence on Wednesday in Lokoja.

Adeika was on June 2nd convicted for kidnapping Sunday from his parents’ residence in Ajaokuta.

Musa held that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt that the convict masterminded and executed the kidnap of Sunday and collected ransom before the victim was released.

Boxing Legend Muhammad Ali Dies at 74


Muhammad Ali, the legendary boxer who proclaimed himself “The Greatest” and was among the most famous and beloved athletes on the planet, died Friday in Phoenix, Arizona, CNN Reports.

Ali was rushed to the hospital on Thursday after he suffered from some respiratory problems.

The family’s spokesman, Bob Gunnell said: “After a 32-year battle with Parkinson’s disease, Muhammad Ali has passed away at the age of 74. The Ali family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and support and asks for privacy at this time.”
