Destiny's Child Kelly Rowland will be in live in Lagos on the 15th February 2014 for the second edition of Darey Art Alade's music concert - Love Like A Movie. Kelly will be hosting the red carpet/fashion police with Darey. The concert is set to hold at Ocean View Grounds, Eko Hotel, Lagos

Kelly who was excited about coming to Nigeria, speaks on what to expect – “I’m so excited to be a part of this innovative concert! And I’m really looking forward to coming to Nigeria too. I hear LLAM Season 1 (which was hosted by Kim Kardashian) was simply magical and I really can’t wait to get on stage and give a great show.”

"No Smoking In Public Places!"-Lagos State Passes 6 Months Jail Term In New No Smoking Law

This is a welcome development actually. After about 6 months of careful deliberation and consideration the Lagos State House of Assembly yesterday passed a bill aimed at banning smoking in public places in the state.

The 16-section bill said that posting of signs which states “no smoking,” with a picture depicting a burning cigarette enclosed in a circle with a bar across, should be displayed in all “no smoking areas.” The assembly noted that the picture depicting ban of smoking in a particular public place would be prominently posted and properly maintained by the owner, occupier or person in charge of the “no smoking areas.”

Geneveive was unveiled as brand ambassador for Etisalat Easyflex (a product from telecoms company, Etisalat) today at an event which was also attended by fellow actor Hakeem Kae-Kazim, who is also a brand ambassador for Etisalat.

Mercy Johnson Shares Pictures of Her Daughter's First Birthday

Actress Mercy Johnson's Daughter, Purity Okojie was one year old at the close of last year, December 2013 to be specific, and Mercy and husband, Odianosen, hosted a small party for friends and family to celebrate.

The San Jose divorcee met a Nigerian man on ChristianMingle.com falsely claiming to be Irish citizen 'David Holmes', according to the Santa Clara District Attorney's Office.

Holmes said he worked on a Scottish oil rig, and his profile picture turned out to be a picture of a male model downloaded from the internet. The two never met in person, but talked over the phone and Holmes even sent the woman flowers.

Today we heard in breaking news that Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has surreptitiously signed the so-called Same Sex prohibition Bill into law. Reports are that Jonathan actually signed the Bill, better known as the “Jail-All-The-Gays” Bill, quietly last week and it's only been made public knowledge.

The LGBT community around the World will not tolerate laws that criminalize sexuality and will vehemently protest countries which institute such laws, which serve as government sanctioned mechanisms for persecution.

AfroCandy’s Movie Not Selling As Expected!

One would think with all the hype her movie would have probably sold out. Her movie, Destructive Instinct is not selling as expected because marketers have increased the price. Instead of selling it N300, they sell it between N500- N1000. Meanwhile, AfroCandy wants every Nigerian to have a copy of it, because of well what she did in the movie.

So she announced on Facebook that they shouldn’t buy it more than N300. She’s even fighting the marketers right now and said she will bring in her team from the US for her next movie. Her words after the cut:

OMG, this just scared the bejesus out of me. Can this be real? Apparently, this story has gone viral. 8 year old Mai Li Fay from Bangkok is far from living the usual life of a girl her age. Everyday, thousands of people gather to the front of her family’s house to get a chance of seeing and possibly touching the young girl, a gesture which both buddhists and hindu pilgrims seem to perceive as a garantee of good fortune.

According to the country’s top medical expert, Dr Ping Lao, the young girl suffers a very rare syndrome known as the Serpentosis Malianorcis or Jing Jing’s disease, which gives her lower body a distinct reptilian form and aspect. Only a handful of such cases have been recorded throughout history, so the scientific knowledge accumulated about the pathology is rather limited and there is no cure in sight at the moment.

The Fay family have welcomed the situation brought by Mai Li’s situation with a mix of anguish and excitement, as the never ending lines of tourists and pilgrims have brought the badly impoverished family some substantial revenues and given them an important raise in their social status but cost them there privacy and intimacy.
