Abuja Bomb Blast Survivors Narrate Near Death Experience

This has gone beyond sad. I am tired of seeing President Jonathan going to visit victims of bomb blast without any action done to stop this boko haram madness. You go visit them, take pictures, send out to the press and then what next? Seriously this has gone on for far too long and has to stop. 

A few of those who were lucky to be alive when a bomb exploded at a popular shopping mall in Abuja on Wednesday with new reports saying 22 died and over 50 injured, have explained how they narrowly escaped death and thanked God for sparing their lives.

It’s such a bad situation that you won’t even pray for your enemy to experience it when you read their stories. They said the flames from the explosion were peeling people’s skin, bomb explosions are that terrible. May God put an end to it.  Their stories below.

Just going to visit these victims and take pictures to send to the press will not solve the problem at all. This is disheartening, heart breaking, soul wrenching like I cried whilst watching this video. May God help us oh! I am speechless

Juliet Ibrahim & Hubby are Divorced

It's no longer news that Ghanaian actress Juliet Ibrahim and her husband Kwadwo Safo are no longer together.  Her rep has released a statement that the two have been divorced and it has been finalized.

“It has been difficult for Ghanaian Actress-Juliet Ibrahim to let her fans know that her marriage with Kwadwo Safo has long ended due to the fact that, as a mother, she has been keen on making the welfare of her child paramount.

Her decision to keep the divorce on the low was so that the two involved would not be distracted from their responsibilities towards the child they have together.

However, Juliet Ibrahim has found it necessary to let her fans know today that, she filed for a divorce and it is final. She is no more married to Kwadwo Safo and the marriage ended a while back.

With the interest of an innocent child on the table, we ask that you treat this difficult but necessary decision to put her divorce out there for her fans to know with utmost respect.

Kefee’s Corpse Arrives Nigeria

The corpse of late gospel singer, Kefee has arrived Nigeria. The corpse arrived around 4pm via a Delta Airline aircraft at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja. Her family members were on ground to receive the corpse, but her husband wasn't present.

It is not sure if he had quietly flown into the country or he is still in the United States where he had gone to be with her, before she passed away.

Dora Akunyili To Be Buried August 28th

Former Minister of Information and Communications, Late Dora Akunyili who died on the 7^th of June in an Indian Specialist Cancer hospital will be buried on the 28^th of August her husband has said.

Mr Akunyili thanked Nigerians who stood by her during her 2-year battle with cancer, and those supporting them now after her demise.

Nuella Njubigbo And Tchidi Chikere Expecting Their First Child

According to sources close to the couple, actress Nuella Njubigbo and her husband movie producer Chidi Tchikere are expecting their first child. Nuella is said to be in the early stages of her pregnancy.

"Yes she's pregnant and they are very excited. They are so in love and so happy together. She's not showing yet because she's in her first trimester."

Chidi and Nuella tied the knot in a traditional ceremony on March 29th but did their introduction in January 2014. This will be Chidi's fourth child as he has 3 boys with his ex-wife.  

Police Uncover Explosives At Winners Chapel Owerri

According to a breaking news report on Premium Times, two Improvised Explosive Devices was discovered at Winners Chapel on Port Harcourt road in Owerri, Imo state this morning June 15th. The police detonated the bomb after detecting them. The Commissioner of Police in Imo state, Abdumajid Ali, said they have arrested six suspects over the discovery of the explosives.

The police say they believe the explosives were planted on Saturday night and timed to explode after worshippers had gathered for worship today. Thankfully it was discovered on time. God will continue to deliver us, Amen. 

Brymo Set To Announce New Album

Popular afro pop singer Olawale Ashimi, better known as Brymo, has announced the release of his upcoming album. 

Despite his controversy and the ongoing court case with his former label Chocolate City, the singer has moved on and has already started putting together materials for his next project, titled ‘Tabula Rasa’. 

Although the singer is yet to share the release date for the album, he promised to make a good album to thrill his fans with love songs and ballads in a fusion of African folk and pop music. ‘Tabula Rasa’ will be Brymo’s second album after his controversial split with Chocolate City and his fourth studio album....

NAFDAC Reformer Dora Akunyili dies at 59

It is with a very heavy heart that I post this. I just heard that former Minister of Communication and DG of NAFDAC, Dora Akunyili has passed away. 

She has been receiving treatment for a serious illness in India. Dr Akunyili made an indelible impact during her tenure as Director General of Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and her legacy will forever live on. 

This is such a sad news. May she rest in peace.

Woman Posts Graphic Facebook Photos Of Her Face Battered And Bruised By Abusive Boyfriend

A Tennessee woman has posted graphic photos of her battered face online in an effort to spread awareness about domestic violence. Angela Brower, 37 said she recently broke up with her boyfriend of six months after he became verbally and physically abusive towards her. 

On May 18, he came over to retrieve his belongings, he attacked me, punched me in the face so hard that I was knocked out. The orbital bone around my eye was completely shattered and my nose was broken on both sides and very displaced, Brower said.

Boko Haram Kills 60 In Today’s Adamawa Brothel Bomb Blast

Boko Haram is at it again. Another bomb blast occurred today in Adamawa around 6pm in a bar and brothel located very close to a major military base in Mubi, Adamawa.

Soldiers and civilians usually sit there to eat, drink and have fun at the brothel named Kabang.

No fewer than 60 people were killed in the blast. 

How can the government actually get rid of these boko haram madness? This is becoming a trend that looks like it's here to stay 

“Jonathan did not promise Amnesty to Boko Haram” – Reuben Abati

Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, is refuting claims made by the Minister of Youth Development, Boni  Haruna that President Goodluck Jonathan has granted conditional amnesty to Boko Haram. 

Commenting on the president’s Democracy Day speech, from which Haruna apparently deduced that Amnesty was granted, Abati said the word “amnesty” was never used.

“…I don’t think the President used the word Amnesty.”

The President spoke about those who are willing to denounce terrorism, those who are ready to embrace peace, opportunities have been created for them through the presidential fact finding committee on dialogue and peace resolution of conflicts in the north-eastern part of Nigeria. So I will refer you basically to the speech by the President.

President in the democracy address explained that despite Federal Government’s disposition for possible reconciliation with any terrorist group, it would be on the condition that they are prepared to lay down arms.

For our citizens who have joined hands with Al Qaeda and international terrorists in the misguided belief that violence can possibly solve their problems, our doors remain open to them for dialogue and reconciliation, if they renounce terrorism and embrace peace” Abati said.
