Ebola Is A Global Issue, Patrick Sawyer’s Wife Speaks

Ebola virus victim, Patrick Sawyer’s wife, Decontee has spoken after her husband died of the virus in Nigeria last week. She says it’s a battle the whole world should fight and only hopes and pray no other family will go through what she is presently going through.

Apparently, Mr Sawyer had lived about a decade in Minnesota with his wife and three children before moving back to Liberia in 2008. His wife who spoke in the US where she lives with their three daughters disclosed Mr Patrick is also a US citizen and it breaks her heart that their daughters would never get to meet him again.

Lagos Pastor Boasts of Ebola Cure

Lagos na wa indeed. The Founder of Trinity House, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, has claimed that he has found a solution to the deadly Ebola disease, which has killed no fewer than 670 people and infected more than 1,000 in Africa. 

Following the death in Lagos of a Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, who flew in from his country to Nigeria last week, Ighodalo said he had a “message of hope and faith” that would uncover the solution to the highly infectious disease.

US Doctor Kent Brantly Infected With Ebola Virus

You all should be careful and vigilant especially in Lagos because this ebola virus is no joke. A Texas doctor who had moved to Liberia to work for a medical charity been infected with the deadly virus ebola. Dr Kent Brantly, who had moved to the country before the outbreak  is now being treated for the disease at a Liberia hospital. Ebola, one of the world's deadliest viruses, has been spreading through West Africa, with the latest case being confirmed in Nigeria after an infected businessman traveled there by plane. 

Maheeda States Reason Why Prostitution Should be Legal in Nigeria

In an interview with Vanguard, rising singer Maheeda says prostitution should be legal in Nigeria.

Maheeda states since it is everywhere, she sees no reason why the government should delay in making it a way of life.
“…I think prostitution should be legalized. I have been there, I have been with these girls .

I have been to Holland where I think it’s legal. It won’t be bad if it is legalized because it’s everywhere anyway. So it’s better if it’s legalized.” she said. Who agrees with her?

Prior to 1989, Calistus Ike had dreamt of becoming a very successful business man. Little did he know that he was going to spend seven years as an awaiting trial inmate and another 16 years on the death row.

Disturbing Video Of How Boko Haram Members Decapitated Nigerian Airforce Officer

This video is not only disturbing but sickening. How can a human do this to his fellow human? Where are their souls, their hearts? Seriously what religion do they practice, what God do they serve. A disturbing video from SaharaTV has surfaced showing how some members of the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, decapitated a Nigerian Air Force officer in Borno State and paraded with his head in a jubilant display.
 
The victim, who was extensively interrogated before his gruesome killing, identified himself as Umar Abubakar, disclosing that he was a member of Section 9 of the Nigerian armed forces engaged in counter-insurgency measures against Boko Haram. 
 
In the video clip, the insurgents asked their victim to state his monthly pay to which he replied N40,000.
He also disclosed that his commanding officer was a 2nd lieutenant. The insurgents displayed their victim's identity card, chanting that the world should know that Allah had given them an enemy.

A Nigerian-born accountant at a chain of academies is at the centre of a fraud investigation after £4million of school funds ended up in his personal accounts. Samuel Kayode, pictured above, is said to have spent much of the cash on an extravagant lifestyle and buying a string of properties.

DailyMail in a fresh report yesterday says the 57-year-old part-time pastor was told by the High Court to pay £4.1million back more than a year ago. He has failed to do so, and it is feared most of the cash has been transferred to Nigeria. The case, kept secret for almost two years, is believed to be Britain’s biggest ever education fraud.

Association of Nigerian Witches & Wizards Declare War on Boko Haram

According to The Sun an emergency meeting was held at Afuze, Edo over the challenges facing the country, especially the nation’s security. 

In an interview with the publication, the leader and spokesman for Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria (WITZAN), Dr. Okhue Iboi (they have a spokesperson too) said the emergency meeting was to discuss a way forward.

Malala Yousafzai Flies To Nigeria To Campaign For Missing Chibok Girls

Malala Yousafzai, the girls' education campaigner who was shot by the Taliban, is on her way to Nigeria right now to campaign on behalf of the schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram. Ms Yousafzai who was an early backer of the #BringBackOurGirls social media campaign, is due to arrive today and as well as meeting relatives of the kidnapped girls, she is expected to seek an audience with President Goodluck Jonathan. 

Her visit to Nigeria takes place almost three months to the day since the abduction of the girls and her presence is expected to add to the pressure on the Nigerian government. I still can't believe those girls are yet to be found. 

Nigerian Man Sentenced to 263 Years in U.S Prison for Drug Dealing/Money Laundering

A 53-year-old U.S-based Nigerian man has been sentenced to 263 years in prison for drugs and weapons distribution/sales and money laundering. The man, Felix Okafor, who migrated to the U.S in 1981, was sentenced on April 10,Punch reports.

According to reports, Okafor purchased a convenience store in Benson, North Carolina, called “Flying Eagles Groceries,” which he ran himself. However, it was discovered that the store was just a cover-up for his illegal activities. Residents became suspicious of Okafor over time, because he didn’t seem to care about his supposed business.

Police Finds 1,555 Child Pornography Images In Catholic Priest’s College Room

A Catholic priest, Father Stanislaus Hogan, 63, who had 1555 child pornography images (from 3 months to 16 years old pictures of children) in his bedroom at St Ignatius College in Adelaide where he worked has been charged to court after police found those images in his locked room at the college. 

His main interest was in images of boys in the low-to-mid teens, the very age range of children at the school where he was employed.

But his lawyer wants the court to forgive him after pleading guilty, stating that he has done a lot of good in his life and he has also made clear his intention to apply to be released from his vows on August 14.

She pleaded with the court not to send her client to jail, but the judge said such a sentence would be 'manifestly inadequate'. Hogan, whose bail was continued, will be sentenced on a later date.

Meanwhile, a psychologist said Hogan had previously suffered with alcohol problems and depression, which were directly related to his struggle to reconcile his sexuality with his ethical and religious beliefs.
