Buhari Expresses Delight About Army’s Rescue of 293 Females from Sambisa Forest


President-elect Muhammadu Buhari is happy about the news that the Nigerian Army rescued 293 females from Sambisa Forest. New reports indicate that the individuals rescued were not the Chibok girls.

5 Year Old Kidnapped from Parents’ Home in Owerri


A 5-year-old girl named Yannie Munachimso Oforduru, was kidnapped by unknown individuals on Friday, April 24th from her parents’ home in Owerri, Imo State.

Delta Woman Dies after Accidentally Consuming Poisoned Soup She Prepared for Cheating Husband


A woman in Delta State is dead after she consumed some Egusi (melon) soup she had prepared for her husband.
The woman, Egwoli, had reportedly put some substances she obtained from a native doctor into the soup, as she had been told the substances would make her husband find her more desirable, Daily Post reports. However, she didn’t know that the “charm” was actually poisonous.

LOL!!! A Japanese woman caught her boyfriend cheating, and subsequently took revenge by drowning his Apple products in a bath tub filled with water, Inquisitr reports.
The products include an iPhone, iMac, iPad, and other expensive Apple items. After she dumped them in the tub, she took pictures of the objects, and sent them to her boyfriend’s phone.

UK Home Office Ordered To Bring Back Deported 5-Year-Old Rafeeq Atanda And His Mum


The UK Home Office has been ordered to bring five-year-old Rafeeq Atanda and his mum back to the UK after they were deported to Nigeria earlier this year. In January, the government decided to deport them despite a high-profile case. 

The boy was born in the UK, but spent his last week in the country held in a London immigration center with his mother before they were deported.


Ogun State Fast Food Worker Sentenced to 266 Years Imprisonment for Stealing N8 Million from Employer

Wow! 266 years? Don't get me wrong theft is a crime which I wish is applicable to everyone including those in power.  Oluremi Olayinka, a staff member of well-known eatery, Sweet Sensation, was on Wednesday convicted and sentenced to 266 years imprisonment for allegedly stealing N8 million from her employer.
According to Premium Times, “an Ogun State High Court ruled that offense is contrary to sections 390(6)(7)(8), 467 and 468 respectively of the Criminal Code Law Cap 29, Laws of Ogun State.”

Former Information Minister Chukwumerije Passes Away


Uche Chukwumerije, former Minister of Information and Chairman, Senate Committee on Education passed away on Sunday at the age of 75.
According to Vanguard, he had been battling with lung cancer for a while, and died at a Turkish hospital in Abuja.
Chika, Chukwumerije’s son stated, “He died here in Abuja and was surrounded by his friends before his last breath. He has been an inspiration in ways I cannot explain.’’ 
Chukwumerije was elected a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in April 2003, represented Abia North Senatorial District. He served as minister of information in the dying days of the military regime of Ibrahim Babangida and later served in the same capacity in the interim national government of Ernest Shonekan. May his soul rest in peace, Amen. 

Woman, 50, Delivers Twins After 14 Years Of Childlessness

Yes, God is still in the business of doing miracles. Roseline Akinsola, 50, on Monday delivered a set of twins after 14 years of childlessness. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Akinsola, who works at the Ekiti State Christian Pilgrims Board, was full of praises to God for answering her prayers. 

The two girls, weighed 4.2kg and 2.3kg respectively.

Nanny who Abducted Orekoya Children Confesses; Says Kidnapping is “a Family Business”



In this video released by Channels TV the nanny who kidnapped the Orekoya children has confessed about how she masterminded her evil plan.
She also reveals that kidnapping is a family business, and that her husband, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, his wife, and her four children all run the business.
Also, the nanny’s name isn’t really “Mary Akinloye.” It’s actually Funmilayo Adeyemi.

This video is really heartbreaking. I posted here about the kids who were kidnapped by their maid and is demanding a ransom. Apparently the kids are still not yet home.

This is sad, I can't begin to imagine what she's going through right now. May God bring those kids home safely.

Jimi Agbaje Tells Igbo People to “Push APC into Atlantic Ocean”


In response to the "Lagoon" threats which most, if not all of you have heard made by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu in which he stated that Igbos would “perish in the lagoon” if they don’t vote for Lagos State APC governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, Jimi Agbaje has responded.
According to Punch, Agbaje stated that Igbo people in Lagos should use their votes to push APC into the Atlantic Ocean. He is said to have stated this while addressing Igbo traders at the Alaba International Market on Thursday.

Maid Who Kidnapped 3 Children in Lagos Demands N15 Million Ransom


It seems getting a trusted maid in Nigeria now is a herculean task. Word has it that the maid who kidnapped three children from their Surulere home has gotten in touch with the children's family and is demanding a ransom. 
According to Punch, the maid named Mary Akinloye, as well as her accomplices, contacted the children’s parents, the Orekoya family, on Thursday, demanding a N15 million ransom.

Police I-G Orders Restriction of Vehicular Movement for Saturday’s Elections


The Inspector-General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has ordered restriction of vehicular movement in the 36 states, from 8 a.m to 5 p.m for the governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer,Emmanuel Ojukwu, on Thursday in Abuja.
The statement explained that the measure was to ensure safety and security during the polls. However, there is no restriction of vehicular movement in the Federal Capital Territory as there is no election taking place there on Saturday.

4 Nigerian Students Found Dead in their Georgia Apartment


Police are saying the boys died from gas poisoning due to a faulty water heater in their apartment. 
Friends of the students were worried when they hadn't heard from the roommates all day, which was unusual. They called police who broke into the students’ apartment and found their bodies. 

The bodies have been taken to the National Forensic Bureau. Friends of the victims, who are Nigerians, say they want a proper investigation into what happened. 

They also wanted the Nigerian public to be aware of this incident.

‘Wonder Bank’ Owners Disappear with Customers' Deposit in Kwara State

Scores of people in Kwara State who claimed to be customers of Ayonitemi Cooperative Business Finance, on Tuesday as early as 7am, besieged the premises of the bank alleging that they had been defrauded by the firm.

The wonder bank is located at Oniyangi, near the Emir Road, Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.

Many of the customers, most of them weeping, told PUNCH Metro they had lost substantial amount of money which they deposited in the finance house. They stated that they had been promised mouth watering financial offers if they made deposit in the bank.

Young Mum Left Fighting For Life After Using Friend's Makeup Brush


According to Yahoo, a 27-year-old mum of 1, Jo Gilchrist has been diagnosed with a harsh disease – MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) – after borrowing her friend’s makeup brush to cover up a pimple. According to the report MRSA is an antibiotic form of Staphylococcus, and can be very aggressive.

TREM Rewards MMIA Cleaner Who Returned Passenger’s Lost N12 Million


The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) on Easter Sunday rewarded Josephine Ugwu, the cleaner at Murtala Muhammed Airport (MMIA) who found and returned a bag containing international currencies worth N12 million, that a passenger had lost. 

According to Punch, General Overseer of TREM, Bishop Mike Okonkwo, gave her a financial reward, however; the exact sum of money was not disclosed. An unnamed source reportedly told newsmen that she had been rewarded with “millions of Naira”.
