Doctor Blames “poor vision” for Accidentally Removing Patient’s Ovary Instead of Appendix
The UK Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service has struck off a doctor Lawal Haruna for performing 3 botched operations that have been described as “Never events”. In March 2015, Lawal mistakenly removed a patient’s Fallopian tube and ovary during an operation to remove her appendix.

Governor Ambode orders VIO out of Lagos roads
I bet this is good news for some of yáll. Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has ordered the temporary suspension of the state’s Vehicle Inspection Officers, VIOs, from road operation in the state with immediate effect.
Ambode reportedly gave the order following public complaints regarding the unruly behavior of some of the VIO officers.

35-year-old Nigerian Man Jailed For Life in Cambodia For Drug Trafficking
A Cambodian court on Tuesday, May 8, convicted a Nigerian and Romania of cross-border drug smuggling, and sentenced both of them to life in prison. Romanian man Adrian-Calin Varadi, 40, was caught on Aug. 14, 2016 when he arrived at the Phnom Penh International Airport from Brazil with 4.96 kg of cocaine hidden in his luggage.

A Nigerian doctor and her husband have been accused of trafficking a Nigerian woman to the UK before making her work 18-hour shifts and beating her when she asked for higher wages according to Daily Mail UK.
Dr Ayodeji Adewakun, 44, and Abimbola Adewakun, 48, are alleged to have paid babysitter Iyabo Olatunji, just £20 a week for looking after their two young children at home in Erith, south east London.

Nigerian man arrested for allegedly raping 47-year-old woman in the US
A 53-year-old Nigerian man who worked at a group home in Raleigh, North Carolina was arrested last month after he allegedly raped a 47-year-old woman who lives there.
Police accused Nnamdi Godson Nwankwo of Rolesville of second-degree forcible rape and sexual activity by a substitute parent. Both charges are felonies. Records show that police arrested Nwankwo on Merrell Drive in Raleigh at about 10 a.m. on April 5th. Police said the incident happened a day earlier.

MTN Nigeria Sacks 280 Staff
MTN Nigeria said it had to disengage 280 staff because it wanted to delve into full Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and digital operations. An official who pleaded anonymity told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Monday, that the company will inject another group of new employees, capable of delivering on it new goals.
