Former Nigerian footballer, Chidi Odiah refutes claim, says he's still a professional footballer

 Apparently there's being news going round that the former Nigerian footballer has become a taxi driver after he relocated to the US. Well he's come out to refute this by issuing an official statement. Here's what he says:

"My attention has being drawn to the slandering news going round the online media that I was spotted driving Taxi somewhere in the United States of America. Although, I really don’t lose sleep on some online news blogs who write hogwash and claptrap to attract hits on their blog. However I took this rebuttal path due to the hurt that malicious, libel story has caused my friends and family members. With due respect to taxi drivers who means of livelihood are through that means, I state, emphatically, that I am not a taxi driver and not even in United States of America at the said period. I am a professional footballer who love my profession and yet to resign from playing football.

One of the tenets of good journalism is balanced news; one then begin to wonder the kind of journalism the tittle-tattle peddlers are exposed to".
