Nigerians to begin payment of £3,000 bond from November

From November 2013, Nigeria will be among the six listed Commonwealth 'high risk' countries whose citizens will be required to pay £3,000 tourists visa bond before they are allowed into the UK. The remaining five are: India, Kenya, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The UK government says it's not all visitors that will be required to pay the bond, just people they consider 'highest risk'; that is people who will collect visa and refuse to leave Britain or overstay their visa terms. Those paying bonds will receive the bond back, if they abide by the terms of their visa.

According to the UK Financial Times report, the UK Home Office say there's no going back as the scheme is their most effective way of tackling abuse in their immigration system. Nigeria and the other five countries account for more than five hundred thousand visa applications in 2012. So apply for your visas before November oh.

I didn’t intentionally vote in support of Child Marriage” – Nigerian Senator Weeps

Senator Ayo Akinyelure representing Ondo Central in the Nigerian Senate who voted in favour of the bill supporting underage marriage has publicly apologized! 

Senator Akinyelure made these statements following a peaceful protest by his constituents in Akure, Ondo State.

According to the Channels TV Online report,

“Summoned by the constituents to a meeting held at the Cultural Centre Auditorium, Akure, which is also the Senatorial headquarters, Mr Akinyelure regretted the act and apologised to the people, explaining that he cast the vote in error.

He emphasised that as a true Yoruba man, he wouldn’t have intentionally voted in support of child marriage.

He said there is still hope in correcting the situation as the bill will still be passed at the House of Representatives and the States Houses of Assembly.”

He says that child marriage is a solution to abortion and prostitution. I guess it also must be a solution to Embezzlement, Bad leadership, Insecurity and all the other problems that he and his type have heaped on our nation since independence.

If it is not that I was brought up not to insult adults, I would have called him a sorry excuse of a human being and a waste of his father’s sperm but I will not.

I will only end this by telling him that nothing he says can ever justify marrying a baby as a wife, even if he claims they don’t sleep with them at a young age.

A man has posted a mortifying video of his wife having a temper tantrum so that he could show the world what he had to go through. The woman is seen kicking and screaming in the front seat of their car when the husband says that he can't take her to the lake on a hot Saturday because he needed to take care of chores.

'I had worked 60 hours that week and told her all week that Saturday was my day to get stuff done around the house. But as usual she threw a fit about it,' he wrote according to Gawker.

It’s a prince!: Kate Middleton gives birth to 8-pound 6-ounce baby boy

Mama na boy! Prince William’s wife, Kate, has given birth to a boy, a child now third in line to the British throne. The child was born Monday, after many Britons woke up to the news that Kate had gone into labour with the couple’s first child.

The birth announcement, via a press release from Kensington Palace, said the boy was born at 4:24 p.m. weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces. Congrats to the couple.

It scares and totally shocks me that the Senate in Nigeria (the most populous black nation in the world and Giant of Africa) would not be passing in a law ensuring that every child should compulsorily be enrolled in school.

His lame excuses are as stupid as they are so archaic. A theory from a puerile mind: hiding under obtuse reasons to justify his sexual appetites through a Holy Law. 

This neanderthal Senator is a threat to National Security and National Unity. I hear he aspires to be the next President or Vice-President of this country, Nigeria. I don't know how else to answer the irritant Senator but to heap God's punishment upon him and his ilk. May your ambitions to have a paedophile-imposed state never come to fruition and may you and your ilk have your political ambitions castrated. The 18 year old  representing Bayelsa state was crowned MBGN 2013. Anna will go against other beauty queens from around the world at the Miss World 2013 Finale in Jakarta, Indonesia.  The 26th edition of the pageantry took place in Yenagoa, Bayelsa. 

The 1st runner-up 19 year old Stephanie Okwu representing Imo state, will represent Nigeria in the Miss Universe 2013  competition in Moscow, Russia while 20 year old Powede Lawrence representing Adamawa state, will represent Nigeria in the Miss Tourism 2013 competition. For those who wonder if I can give my daughter(s) out in marriage at the age of 9 or 13, I tell you most honestly, I can give her out at the age of 6 if I want to and its not your business. In Islam, marriage is not only about sex, it is about family and helping one another in achieving their goals, which is the attainment of Paradise.

List of Senators whose votes helped legalise underage Marriage and how it all went down

Still on the issue of early child marriages which was recently legalised in Nigeria. I was able to get a list of the shameless senators who voted to legalise this in Nigeria. This shows how senators voted on the constitution amendment bill which caused an uproar in the senate on Tuesday.

According to them, Section 29(4) (b) says that ” any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age.”

When it was put to vote, 2/3 of members present voted for it which meant it was deleted. But, not so fast. 

Enter Senator Ahmed Yerima of Zamfara, the controversial former governor of Zamfara who tried to stoke religious sentiments. He said it was against Islamic law. Yerima got married to a teenager a few years ago, and going by the provision, the girl who is still not 18 cannot be said to be of age. This is just so bad and sickening, still silently praying it's not true. See the list after the cut...

International Footballer, Joseph Yobo chases Wife's mum from his home!

Some Mother-in-law issues!. According to National Enquirer Magazine, the marriage of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2008, Adaeze Igwe and Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo is at the moment experiencing some turbulence. The love birds who got married in a hush manner, barely three months after meeting in December 2009 are said to be patching things so as not to catch the attention of the press and public in general.

Senate approves Marriage for Underage Children

I don't know about you but I feel this is just wrong in so many ways. Isn't this going to encourage paedophiles? The Senate of Federal republic of Nigeria has approved the marriage of under-aged children irrespective of their age in the country. This new law will proscribe the 18 year-old rule for any Nigerian child to qualify to engaged into a conscious agreement of marriage.
