A 33-year-old woman, Olawunmi, was arrested and remanded in prison custody a week to her wedding for slapping her neigbour, Anthony.
According to PM News, she was arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Isolo for the alleged offence.
After the incident occurred, Anthony went to Ijeshatedo police division and reported Olawunmi’s actions. She was subsequently arrested and taken to the station.
It is unclear why she slapped Anthony. She was urged to apologize but she refused.
Thereafter, she was charged with assault. During the arraignment, she pleaded not guilty.
She was granted N20,000 with one surety and was remanded in prison custody pending settlement of her bail. The case has been adjourned till 16 October, 2015.
Olawunmi wept when she heard the verdict, as her wedding was just a week away.
