Adekunle Gold Says He Has Been Battling Depression

According to a new study by the World Bank, 22% of Nigerians on average are chronically depressed. Now this is a shame as depression is not given as much attention as other parts of the Western World however, seems like the narrative is changing.

Afro-pop artist Adekunle Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold has revealed that he has been battling depression.

In an exclusive interview with Flytime TV, he explained his story on how he has battled depression for the longest time and how he has managed the situation.

“Some people still feel like depression is impossible. How do you have everything and you are still not happy. Sometimes even as an artiste, you have a goal.

“You want to get bigger and then you forget the small victories like you released and album and people loved it. You sold out a show and people loved it. Forgetting that if you don’t get the next thing you want, it will feel like you have lost it.

“That alone will do damage to your confidence and other things,”he said.
