The National Hospital, Abuja on Tuesday confirmed the death of a pair of conjoined twins born to a 17-year-old woman, Safiya Sani, on January 3.
The conjoined twins were born at Mararaba Medical Centre in Mararaba Gurku, Nasarawa and later transferred to the National Hospital, Abuja.
The Director of Clinical Services of the National Hospital, Dr. Obasi Ekumankama, told the News Agency of Nigeira in Abuja that the twins had not been separated when they died.
He said they died on Sunday when a medical investigation was yet to be completed, adding that their bodies had been taken to the mortuary for an autopsy.
