An explosive device suspected to be a bomb was today found in Minna, the Niger state capital, north central Nigeria, and detonated by the police. P.M.NEWS gathered that the explosive was found close to Abdulsalami motor park along Minna/Suleja road. The explosive which was packed in an envelope was dropped by unidentified persons beside the major road.
Eye witness account indicates that it was a staff of the state Environmental Agency that raised the alarm while clearing filth on the road. It was further learnt that those who planted the bomb may have targeted the state secretariat and state House of Assembly which are less than 100 metres away from the motor park. Good thing it didn't go off.
