Former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho. His appointment was contained in a statement issued in Ibadan on Tuesday by Festus Adedayo, the special Adviser on Media to the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
According to his statement, the choice of Mr Tinubu, a financial expert, accountant and administrator was arrived at after extensive deliberations between the governments of Oyo and Osun States which are jointly owned by the University and controlled by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) with Mr Tinubu as its leader.
The former Lagos State Governor is expected to bring his administrative ingenuity and vast experience in public management to bear on the running of the institution and reposition it to meet the standards of its peers all over the world.
