Baby rescued alive from a toilet pipe after being flushed by parents

This is just pure adulterated wickedness. Firefighters in eastern China have rescued an abandoned newborn baby boy lodged in a sewage pipe. The infant was stuck in a pipe directly beneath a toilet commode, state television reported, in a case which has sparked anger on social media sites. The harrowing discovery came after residents reported the sound of a baby crying, state television said late on Monday. 

The pipe was just four inches wide in diameter the China Daily newspaper said. Firefighters had to remove the pipe and take it to a nearby hospital, where doctors carefully cut around it to rescue the baby boy inside, the report said. Continue to see more pictures

Hilarious or Bonkers? For most brides and grooms, deciding what to wear on the Big Day is one of the most important parts of wedding planning. But one New Zealand couple didn’t have to shop for wedding outfits because they got married in the Unclad.

Nick and Wendy Lowe were married at the Wellington Naturist Club on Saturday in a “clothing optional” wedding, reported local newspaper The Dominion Post. About half of the 120 guests were Unclad. Both clothed and Unclad photos were taken, and though guests were asked to dress for dinner, the dancing portion of the event was clothing optional. Check out more photos from the wedding.

Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor's son, Uche Ozokwor got married to his longtime friend, Gloria in London last Saturday. Uche who is a graduate of the Enugu State University of Science and technology  met his wife to be in London and both of them hail from Ngwo, Enugu State. Speaking on the wedding, Patience said “I am in love with the couple. I thank God for them and my family. Although the wedding is taking place outside the shores of Nigeria however, Ibo customs and traditions shall govern the marriage rites.”

News went round yesterday that Brymo was parting from Chocolate City. Here is an update from the record company. World PR Media released this brief statement on behalf of Chocolate City Music:

Pepsi extends Tiwa Savage’s Endorsement deal for two more years

Named  “7411 bureau of information”, the service also has businesses listings, people finders, driving directions, tax advices, address finders, health histories, record back-up, weather forecasts, reverse phone tracker, and jobs finder.

Identity of British soldier hacked down at Woolwich revealed

The British soldier hacked down yesterday in broad day light by two Islamist fanatics has been identified as 25 year old Lee Rigby. 

UK Daily Mail reports Rigby had recently fought in Afghanistan and was walking towards the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, south-east London, yesterday afternoon, when he was run down by a car on the pavement and hacked to death by the two men.

Lee Rigby was married and had a 2 year old son.

Video: Man beheaded in day light in Woolwich, South London

A man, believed to be a serving soldier, was attacked and beheaded with a machete in broad day light this afternoon in Woolwich, South London by two men. The victim was a serving soldier wearing a Help for Heroes t-shirt, he was attacked with a machete-style knife and dumped in the street, eyewitnesses said. An eyewitness told LBC radio he saw two men attacking a man, aged around 20, with kitchen knives before asking passers-by to take photographs of them. Reports say one of the attackers is British Nigerian 'Michael "MUJAHID" Adeboloja

The body of late literary icon, Prof. Chinua Achebe arrived Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport Abuja yesterday where it was received by government officials. His body was flown to Enugu aboard a private plane en-route his hometown, Ogidi, Anambra, where it was received by elder brother, Chief Augustine Achebe, other family members and state govt officials.

Four die in T.B. Joshua’s church during stampede

At least 4 people have been confirmed dead in Pastor T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations in Spintex Road, Ghana. The incident occurred after a stampede ensued at the church today during the distribution of free holy water.

Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer DSP Freeman Tetteh confirmed the death to Joy News and said the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the 37 and Police Hospital mortuaries. Some 13 persons were also severely injured during the incident.

Wizkid wins African Artist of the Year + Full list of Awards

In the just concluded Ghana Music Awards, Wizkid fell giants; beating super hot artists P-Square, Iyanya, Davido, Flavour and D-Banj to win the African Artist of the Year award. Star Boy Wizzy was present to receive his award too, the young hit maker had travelled to Ghana along with his team – EME execs Banky W, Tunde Demuren, Star Boy Entertainment manager Godwin Tom, producer Maleek Berry and official EME DJ, DJ Xclusive.

Wizkid posted the picture of the award on his Instagram profile.

R2Bees were the men for the night, with the duo racking up 5 awards, including Ghanaian artiste of the year.

The award was hosted by Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD) and songstress Eazzy, with performances by E.L., Banky W, Fuse ODG, and many more.

Veteran actor, Zach Orji, has been on the corridor of evangelism in the past two years. He was proclaimed an evangelist by the President of Christian Central Chapel international (CCCI) Bishop Emma Isong,.

The actor was said to have moved from one church to the other with the ministry working hard and praying to get further official pastoral ordination. He had preaching engagement in various churches such as Shepherd House Assembly in Makurdi, Lafia, Abuja and the Diaspora.

Right now, the dreams of star of Glamour Girls of becoming a full minister of God became a reality few weeks ago when he was officially ordained pastor by Bishop Lawrence Osagie.

Photo: Uko tree kills 31, injures many in Imo State

Tears and anguish is the best way to describe what happened Thursday night in Umudagu, Mbieri community in Mbaitoli council area of Imo state as no fewer than 31 persons have been confirmed dead following the fall of an ancestral ‘Uko’  tree estimated to have been over 200 years in existence.

The tree which fell around 8pm, Thursday night, during a rainstorm also left scores of persons injured and about 7 others either buried in the rubble or missing.

Swaziland bans witches from flying above 150metres

OMG! I am trying hard not to believe this. Seriously, witches fly in "broad daylight" in Swaziland which has led to a crackdown on high-flying witches by banning them from hovering above 150metres.

According to the Corporate Affairs Civil Aviation Authority's Sabelo Dlamini‘A, witch/witches on a broomstick should not fly above the [150-metre] limit,’ anyone caught flying their broomstick above the height limit faces arrest and a hefty R500,000 fine.

This is really strange to my ears, you can't try this in naija oh.

Chinua Achebe to be buried at night

Mausoleum, the final resting place of the late literary giant, Prof Chinua Achebe is at its completion stage in his compound, Ogidi in Idemili North council area of Anambra State. According to Daily Sun, the proposed Achebe mausoleum, which is under construction is attached few metres away from his personal duplex building would serve as the tomb of the late literary giant as well serve as the (Obi) chamber for the fallen hero.

the Regent of Ogidi community, Chief S. Okoli said the late Achebe would be buried in the night in line with the culture of the people of Ogidi community, saying, “as a titled man, he will be buried towards evening in line with our culture and tradition. His body shall lie in state in the yam ban (Oba) where the daughters of the clan (Umuokpu) shall pay him their last respects before he would be buried in the night.”

Veteran musician, King Sunny Ade's ex-guitarist, Fatoke Abiodun, who was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on January 1, 2013 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) after found with two parcels of cocaine weighing 1.575kg on his way to Italy has been sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. 

He was sentenced by The Federal High Court in Lagos, yesterday after appealing and pleading guilty to one count charge of unlawful exportation of 1.575kg of cocaine.
